JobKeeper Payment – Frequently Asked Questions
As many of you would be aware, the JobKeeper payment is a payment directly from the Government to eligible employers of $1,500 per fortnight, for each eligible employee. The payments apply from 30 March 2020 and will be payable up to 27 September 2020 (a period of 26 weeks).

Is the JobKeeper Payment available where a business uses a service entity to employ staff and the main trading entity suffers a 30% decline in revenue but it is not the employer as the service entity is the employer?

I have a corporate trustee entity. I am the director. The entity contracts to MR Sales to sell management rights. Both the entity and I have a full licence working as a business broker. Sales have disappeared. I have applied for the job keeper allowance. Am I eligible. Phil Trimble.

Hi Stephen,
Superannuation question. Employee is stood down as there is no work/no hours, employee usually gets paid more than $1500.00 Gross per fortnight, say $2000.00 per fortnight, employer decides to continue paying employee $2000.00 per fortnight and receives $1500.00 JobKeeper. Employer is paying the top up out of kindness. Does the employer have to pay Super on $2000 or $500 or nothing? Or is that part of the discretion? I am thinking employer only has to pay super on any hours that are actually worked.
Great articles by the way. Sherry McGeown

I operated as a sole trader in a hair salon working on my own for many years and then purchased another hair salon on 19 April 2019 merging the two salons. The new one had casual staff that had been employed long term .. one for 8 years and the other for 5 years which came with the purchase of business but only in my employ since 19April 2019. Can they be covered under the job keeper payment as they have been employed with that Business for longer than 12 months but under my ABN for a few weeks less than the 12 months. ? I can not compare March and half of April with figures as the two businesses merged but I am assuming from start date in April (19th) for a month same period each year I can start doing comparisons??

My daughter works full-time & all the annual leave she has accrued she has already booked. She is telling me her employer has now cancelled her annual leave she had booked for September/October & she has to use that now (2 days per week plus still working 2 days per week) to get JobKeeper payments. Otherwise she will have to just get JobSeeker. Are they allowed to do that?
